Applies To: Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2

Create the Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) sites that are specified in the site topology design that your design team provides.

Membership in the Enterprise Admins group in the forest or the Domain Admins group in the forest root domain, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure. Review details about using the appropriate accounts and group memberships at Local and Domain Default Groups (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=83477).

  2. In Active Directory Sites and Services, in the console tree, right-click Sites, and then click New Site.

  3. In Name, type the name of the new site.

  4. In Link Name, click a site link object, and then click OK.
