Configure the DHCP server bindings
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To configure the DHCP server bindings:
- At the DHCP server, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DHCP.
- In the DHCP snap-in, right-click the server you want to configure, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Bindings.
- In the Connections and server bindings list, check Local Area Connection. If the list is empty, configure a static IP address for the DHCP server.
Verify
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To verify that the DHCP server static IP address and bindings are configured correctly, perform the following steps:
- At the DHCP server computer, click Start, click Run, and then type cmd.
- Type ipconfig /all to view the IP address configuration of the server.
- Examine the output. If there is no IP address listed, then the server has not been assigned a static IP address.
