Removing a Forward Lookup Zone

Although this task can also be used to delete a primary zone, it is most often used to delete a secondary copy of a zone. Deleting a standard primary zone is usually unnecessary, unless you are redesigning your Domain Name System (DNS) namespace and the zone is no longer needed or used. In most cases, you can change the zone type if you only want to modify the zone.
Before you delete a primary zone, first delete it from any servers that host secondary or stub versions of the zone. If you are deleting a forward lookup zone, you should also delete any associated resource records in reverse lookup zones if you have not transferred the corresponding host (A or AAAA) resource records to another zone.
Warning
Deleting an Active Directory–integrated zone effectively deletes the zone from Active Directory and removes it from all replicas.
