Determining Whether Global Catalog Promotion Is Complete

This topic explains how to use the Active Directory module for Windows PowerShell to determine whether global catalog promotion is complete. When you perform this task, you promote a specified domain controller to act as a global catalog domain controller for a domain.

Example

The following example demonstrates how to determine whether global catalog promotion is complete for the server Fabrikam-DC1:

Get-ADRootDSE -Server Fabrikam-DC1 | FT GlobalCatalogReady
