Changing the Server Licensor Certificate Name

Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1

You can change the server licensor certificate (SLC) “friendly” name, the name of the SLC associated with this cluster.

Membership in the local AD RMS Enterprise Administrators, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.

To change the server licensor certificate name

  • Set-ItemProperty -Path <drive>:\ -Name SvrLicCertFriendlyName -Value “<name>

    where <drive> is the name of the Windows PowerShell drive, and <name> is the new SLC name.
