Hyper-V integration services for Windows 2000 Server continues to use legacy video adapter

Symptoms
After you install Hyper-V integration services on a virtual machine running Windows 2000 Server, the virtual machine continues to use the legacy video adapter. This issue can occur even after you restart the virtual machine.
This issue is accompanied by a dot appearing alongside the cursor on the virtual machine.
Resolution
Changing the screen resolution on the virtual machine will cause it to switch from the legacy video adapter to the video adapter optimized for Hyper-V. You can then change the screen resolution back to its previous settings. After the screen resolution has been changed, the cursor displays as normal.
