Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2

To verify the functionality of the RD Session Host deployment, log on to a remote desktop client and use Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) to connect to the RD Session Host server.

Important

RemoteFX connections require additional configuration. Ensure you perform the task Configuring RemoteFX on a Remote Desktop Session Host Server before verifying functionality for RemoteFX connections.

To connect to an RD Session Host server by using RDC

  1. Log on to a remote desktop client.

  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.

  3. If you are verifying a RemoteFX connection, also perform the following steps:

  5. In the Windows Security dialog box, type the password for the remote desktop user, and then click OK.

  6. If the connection is successful, a Windows desktop will appear on the screen for the RD Session Host server.
