Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

This API supports the .NET Framework infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Writes an XML element with an xsi:nil='true' attribute.

Namespace:  System.Xml.Serialization
Assembly:  System.Xml.Serialization (in System.Xml.Serialization.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Protected Sub WriteNullTagLiteral ( _
    name As String _
)
protected void WriteNullTagLiteral(
    string name
)

Parameters

  • name
    Type: System.String
    The local name of the XML element to write.

Remarks

The protected members of XmlSerializationWriter are intended for use only by derived classes that are used internally within the .NET Framework XML serialization infrastructure.

When set to true, the nil attribute from the XML Schema instance namespace (abbreviated xsi) indicates a null value.

The WriteNullTagLiteral method is called only when writing literal XML that can be defined in an XML Schema document.
