Applicazioni Windows tramite callback

Nella maggior parte degli scenari di elaborazione asincrona la procedura ideale è avviare un'operazione di database e continuare a eseguire altri processi senza attendere il completamento dell'operazione di database. Tuttavia, in molti scenari è necessario eseguire un'operazione al termine dell'operazione di database. In un'applicazione Windows, ad esempio, può essere opportuno delegare l'operazione con esecuzione prolungata a un thread in background, consentendo al thread dell'interfaccia utente di rimanere reattivo. Tuttavia, al termine dell'operazione di database, si devono usare i risultati per popolare il modulo. Questo tipo di scenario si implementa in modo ottimale con un callback.

Per definire un callback, specificare un delegato AsyncCallback nel metodo BeginExecuteNonQuery, BeginExecuteReader o BeginExecuteXmlReader. Il delegato viene chiamato al completamento dell'operazione. È possibile passare al delegato un riferimento allo stesso oggetto SqlCommand, semplificando l'accesso all'oggetto SqlCommand, e chiamare il metodo End appropriato senza dover usare una variabile globale.

Esempio

Nell'applicazione Windows seguente viene illustrato l'uso del metodo BeginExecuteNonQuery, eseguendo un'istruzione Transact-SQL che include un ritardo di pochi secondi (emulando un comando con esecuzione prolungata).

Questo esempio illustra una serie di tecniche importanti, tra cui la chiamata di un metodo che interagisce con il modulo da un thread separato.
