What Is the Internal Development-Test Server?
This topic provides information about the internal development/test server in a Commerce Server 2009 enterprise deployment. This server is a development/test Web server that also runs the Business Management applications, such as Catalog Manager and Marketing Manager. This server lets internal users update various aspects of the retail Web site in a test environment that will not disrupt the run-time site and services. You also run WSS or MOSS on this server.
The internal development/test server lets you test and approve site updates before publishing them to the pre-production environment.
