Configuring the Operations Management Server

This section provides steps for configuring the management server in a Commerce Server 2009 enterprise deployment. The management server runs Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 (SCOM) to monitor the servers, applications, services, and events in your deployment. The management server collects information from the SCOM agent that runs on each server in your deployment.

Note

For the latest information about SCOM 2007, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=136313.

Perform these tasks to configure the management server:

  1. Install all prerequisite software. For more information, see What Are the Software Deployment Requirements?

  2. Configure the network adapters. For more information, see How to Configure the Network Adapter on the Management Server.

  3. Join the management server to the domain. For more information, see Windows Server Help for the version of Windows Server that you are using.

  4. Install SCOM. For more information, see How to Install Microsoft System Center Operations Manager.
