Changes to Lync and Skype for Business meeting join experience when Google Chrome is the default browser

Back in April we blogged about a new Google Chrome behavior had the potential to impact user's meeting join experience resulting in being directed to the Lync Web App experience rather than launching the Lync or Skype for Business client. The details of that blog post can be found here:

Since that time Microsoft has published updates for all on-premises server versions as well as updating all online tenants which changes the meeting join to work as seamless as with any other supported browser (without any special configuration of NPAPI).

The following table shows the minimum build that contains the NPAPI fix as well as the direct link for where to download the updates from.

In order for this change to take effect you need to ensure that you patch the server or pool of servers which hosts the meeting simple url in your environment to the correct version as noted above.
