Este tópico mostra como usar a Automação da Interface do Usuário da Microsoft para obter atributos de texto de um intervalo de texto. Um intervalo de texto pode corresponder ao local atual do ponto de inserção (ou seleção degenerada) em um documento, uma seleção contígua de texto, uma coleção de seleções de texto desarticuladas ou todo o conteúdo textual de um documento.

O padrão de controle TextPattern, em conjunto com a classe, oferece suporte a atributos TextPatternRange de texto básicos, propriedades e métodos. Para funcionalidades específicas de controle sem suporte de TextPattern nem TextPatternRange, a classe AutomationElement fornece métodos para que um cliente da Automação da Interface do Usuário acesse o modelo de objeto nativo correspondente.
