I suggest a contest of making most effective and attractive demo under 100 lines of code. It could be an animation, drawing, game, presentation or whatever.all the graphic must be generated by code itself, without external bmp/jpg/png files.LD xtension is preferred.Anonymous

Tryhest, great job. The contest would be interesting. Our last Big Challenge didn't do so well. I did one where we had two teams make a tank game. And then we judged the winner. So we could do that contest. How many entrants would we need to have? And would it be a team contest? Thanks!Anonymous

Tryhest, sounds good. In my experience, I'd want to get community commitments before we move forward. Otherwise, it's no fun if you're competing by yourself. How many competitors should we have involved, at minimum?Anonymous

it should be an open contest. an additional motivation should be some prizes, in btc or similar. but the most important are not prizes but the popularization of programing tehniques, optimization and so on...Anonymous

Well, Tryhest, I think we're going to need a minimum amount of people. We've done these in the past, so we need some people to sign up before we get started. I'm going to guess 3 people? Is that enough? And who should the judges be? I can get some Microsoft folks and Community Council members to act as judges and to give their reviews of the artwork and programming skills (sticking with the positive). Next, what are your thoughts for prizes? Anything we could do virtually? I could interview the winner(s) and feature them on this blog. And of course feature the winning artwork on this blog. I think that would be enough. Is there anything virtual you can contribute as a prize? Like could you make a game in their honor? Or maybe you create a winning image (with a medal or something to show they won) on their artwork? Or maybe a collage image of the different entries, and the winner's work is featured the most prominently? I'll sign up to do the two blog prizes (and maybe another one to feature your prize you make for them). Can you contribute a virtual prize or two too? Thanks!Anonymous

for determining used lines can be used a SB program that will
- eliminate unnecessary lines, spaces and comments
- calculate used lines in order that: - Begin/END statements are counted as 1/2 (half) lines - also for IF ELSEIF ENDIF structures ================ Does that program exist? Great ideas!

MS review is welcome, but not too influencing on ranking The users voting is 60-70% influence on ranking, other is jury/MS voting ================= Do you have any preference of who the judges would be? Or would I just pick some MS employees involved with Small Basic along with a few teachers and council members? Thanks!Anonymous

As far as prizes go, we have the medal from you and two blog posts from me about them. Anything else you can provide? Or do you think that's enough prizes for our first competition? Thanks!Anonymous
