Error: Remote DCOM Access Denied

This error reads:

An unexpected DCOM error occurred trying to contact the remote computer. Access is denied.

This error occurs due to a known Windows bug, which prevents remote debugging via DCOM between older versions of Microsoft Windows and new versions of Microsoft Windows with a Server 2003 domain controller.

To avoid this problem, you should upgrade all machines to at least:

  • Windows 2000 SP4,

  • Windows XP SP1, or

  • Windows Server 2003 release version.
