List of Preset Filters

PREfast for Drivers includes several preset filters that you can apply to a Defect Log. This topic describes each filter in general terms. To see the warnings that are displayed and hidden by each preset filter, select the preset filter and examine the check boxes for the warnings. For instructions, see Displaying the Warnings in a Preset Filter.

PREfast for Drivers includes the following preset filters:

  • (all defects)
    Displays all warnings and includes all warning sets.

  • (no defects)
    Display only the warning sets. This filter includes all header file filters, but no warnings.

  • winpft
    Displays warnings about code errors that introduce a security vulnerability and are likely to represent an actual error in the code, rather than a false-positive result.

  • wspmin
    Same as winpft.

  • drivers_only
    Displays driver-specific warnings that are likely to represent an actual error in the code, rather than a false-positive result..

  • drivers_all
    Combines winpft and drivers_only.

  • drivers_recommended
    Same as drivers_all, except that the drivers_recommended filter does not display Warning 28144.

  • (custom)
    Displays a custom filter. When you select or clear the warning check boxes, PREfast for Drivers automatically saves your changes as a custom filter and displays the (custom) filter selection. For more information, see Using a Custom Filter.

Comments

Recommended filters is a title that appears in the Presets drop-down list when no filter is selected. It is not the name of a filter. Selecting Recommended Filters clears (unselects) any selected filter.
