Double-click the internal icon of an audiopath in the project tree to open the following window.

Audiopath Designer Window

The Audiopath Designer window is divided into two regions. On the left is a list of mix groups; that is, groups of PChannels sharing common playback configurations. On the right is the Effect Palette, a list of available effects that can be added to mix group buffers. These regions can be resized, and you can resize individual columns by dragging a vertical line in the top bar.

Each mix group has information in the following columns:

  • Mix Group

Range of channels in the group and the name of the group. For more information, see Managing Mix Groups.

  • Bus and Buffer

List of buses and buffers used by the group. Right-click either of these columns to open a shortcut menu for adding and removing buses and buffers. For more information, see Buses and Buffers.

  • Effects List

List of effects applied to the sounds in this mix group. Multiple effects are separated by a vertical line. Add an effect to this list by dragging it from the Effect Palette. For more information, see Managing Effects.

The Effect Palette contains standard effect types supplied with DirectMusic Producer, called Microsoft DirectX Media Objects (DMOs). You can add to the Effect Palette by installing other available DMOs on your system.
