Managing Effects
Effects can be inserted into User Defined buffers but not into Standard Buffer Types.
The right side of the Audiopath Designer window contains an Effect Palette, which contains all available DirectX Media Objects (DMOs). Insert an instance in the Effects List column by dragging an effect from the Effect Palette, or by right-clicking the Effects List column to open the shortcut menu shown in the following figure.
If no effect is selected in the list, only the Insert Effect and Insert Send commands are available.
Choose Insert Effect to insert an effect into the buffer. Click Insert Send to insert a send effect, which will cause data in the buffer to be sent to another buffer that adds one or more effects. For more information, see Send Effects.
Choosing Insert Effects opens the Insert New Effect dialog box, shown in the following figure.
Choose the effect type you want to insert from the Base on existing effect list. A default name is provided for the instance of the effect that you are inserting. You can use the default name, or enter any name you want.
More than one effect can be inserted in a buffer. When you select an effect already in the list and insert another effect, the new effect is inserted to the left of the highlighted effect.
Effects in a mix group process audio output in the order in which they occur, from left to right. For Mix Group1 in the following figure, the Flanger effect is followed by the Echo effect, followed by the Chorus effect.
Move and rearrange effects in the Effects List by right-clicking it and using the Cut, Copy, and Paste commands. To work with multiple effects, press CTRL while selecting effects. When you insert or paste an effect, it can go to the right or left of an existing effect, depending on the position of the cursor when you select the existing effect.
For any effect in the Effects List, you can also open a Effect Properties window
