Parameter Control Track

Windows Media Encoder SDK banner art

The parameter control track contains curves that control the timing, settings, and parameters for objects contained in an audiopath, including Effects implemented as DirectX Media Objects (DMOs), and Tools.

For example, if an audiopath uses a Chorus effect, and you would like to gradually increase the wet/dry mix for the effect over a range of six measures, you can insert a curve in the parameter control track that does this for you, as shown in the following figure.

Parameter control track

The parameter control track can contain curves that control any DMO or tool used in the audiopath that is currently selected as the default, or the audiopath that is embedded in the segment. For more information selecting a default audiopath, see Audiopath List. For information about embedding an audio path in a segment, see Embedding an Audiopath in a Segment

You can add as many parameters as you want to the parameter control track, including different parameters for the same object, or parameters for different objects. When you add a parameter, a new strip is added to the track. Although this strip can be selected separately, it is not a separate track. To assign parameter controls to a different track group, create another parameter control track.
