Reset Curves

Windows Media Encoder SDK banner art

For any CC track in a segment or pattern, you can insert a curve at the end of the track to act as a reset curve for curves of the same type occurring earlier in the track. This sets the controller back to an appropriate level for looping or transitioning to a new component.

For example, you can shape the vibrato of a part by inserting several Mod Wheel curves in different measures of a pattern. As each curve is reached during playback, the Mod Wheel setting is changed by the curves. If you place a final Mod Wheel curve in the last measure of the track with a value of zero, playback can loop back to the beginning of the pattern, or transition to some other component, without the Mod Wheel controller affecting any notes.

You can also use settings in the Curve Properties window to specify that if playback of a segment or pattern ends before a reset curve is reached, the controller resets itself to an appropriate setting. See Reset Tab.
