To set the secondary segment audition options for a component, right-click the Play From Start button beside the component name in the Secondary Segment Toolbar. The following dialog box is displayed.

Secondary Segment Audition Options dialog box

The audition options enable you to experiment with new performance boundary settings for starting playback of a secondary segment when it is used as a secondary segment. By setting audition options, you can temporarily override the segment's performance boundary setting without affecting the stored segment. Settings apply only to the segment whose Play From Start button you clicked to open this dialog box. You can set different audition options for all secondary segments.

Audition options are saved with bookmarked views. See Bookmark Controls.

This dialog box contains the following settings:

  • Performance Boundary

Click Start at next marker to start the segment at a marker in the primary segment. From the drop-down list, select another boundary to use if there are no markers. The default setting is Segment's Default, which specifies that the performance boundary as set in the Segment Properties is not overridden. For more information, see Boundaries and Segment Alignment.

  • Controlling Segment

Select this check box to make the segment controlling. For more information, see Controlling Segments.

  • Don't Cut Off

Select this check box to ensure that notes continue playing to the end if invalidated. For more information, see Don't Cut Off.

  • Align Options

Select a boundary within the segment where it starts playing if the normal start point falls in the past. For more information, see Boundaries and Segment Alignment.

  • Timing

Select the timing option for playback. For more information, see Timing Options.
