Default Ink Thickness
Default Ink Thickness |
Overview of default ink thickness.
For handwriting, use a default ink thickness of 1 pixel. This thickness appears best on a screen that is 120 dots per inch (dpi) and looks most like traditional ink that is written with a ballpoint pen. You can determine the display dpi by using the calculation described in Physical Sizing Measurements.
To determine the physical dimensions of the ink as you work with ink serialized format (ISF), use the dpi value to determine the thickness of the ink in HIMETRIC units, the default unit of measure for Ink Serialized Format (ISF). There are 2,540 HIMETRIC units in an inch, so 2,540 divided by the dpi value times the ink thickness in pixels equals the ink thickness in HIMETRIC units. For more information about working with ink and ink formats, see Ink Interoperability.
The following illustration includes samples of other ink thicknesses you may want to provide in your application as ink formatting options. For more information on ink thickness, see the DrawingAttributes property.
