Running a Plug-in in the Remote Tools Shell (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

After you have started the Remote Tools Shell, you can choose to run a plug-in in the shell using one of several methods. You can choose to run the selected plug-in from the main tool window of the Remote Tools Shell, or you can run it from the Plug-in Explorer window.

To run a plug-in from the main tool window

  1. To run a plug-in from the main tool window, from the File menu, select Open, and then after selecting a plug-in to run, choose Open.

    • The Open File dialog box appears.
  2. Select the plug-in that you want to run, and then choose Open.

    The Select a Device dialog box appears.

  3. (Optional) By default, this dialog box displays the target devices that are currently configured to run the plug-in. If you want to select from devices that are not currently configured to run the plug-in, but which are configured on your desktop workstation, select Show all devices.

  4. Select the target device on which you want to run the plug-in, and then choose OK.

To run a plug-in from the Plug-in Explorer window

  • In the Plug-in Explorer, perform one of the following actions.

    • Double-click on the name of a plug-in that is currently displayed in the Plug-in Explorer.
    • Select a plug-in that is currently displayed in the Plug-in Explorer, and then hit the Enter key.
