Platform Builder Dialog Boxes (Compact 7)

After you have installed Platform Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 7, several new or modified dialog boxes are created in the Visual Studio IDE. You can use these dialog boxes to work with OS designs and subprojects. For information about dialog boxes specific to Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, see the Visual Studio documentation.

- Alternate Release Directories Dialog Box
In the Alternate Release Directories dialog box, you can specify the path for additional modules to run on the target device.
- BSP Information Dialog Box
The BSP information dialog box uses information that you provide about a given board support package (BSP) to generate a new Catalog file for the BSP if no Catalog file for the BSP currently exists.
- Capture Dump File Dialog Box
You can use this dialog box to capture a dump file when you are connected to a running device for debugging and the debugger is in a break state.

In the Configure Scripts dialog box, you can create, delete, and modify scripts.
- Debug Message Options Dialog Box
This dialog box allows you to customize the debug messages that Platform Builder displays when you are debugging and testing a run-time image.
- Debug Zones Dialog Box
This dialog box enables you to view, add, or remove settings on process and module debug zones.
- Edit Script Step Dialog Box
The Edit Script Step dialog box appears when you choose Add or Edit in the Configure Script dialog box.
- Exceptions Dialog Box
This dialog box allows you to add an exception, modify the name of an exception, or modify the debugger's response to an exception.
- Excluded Catalog Item Dialog Box
This dialog box provides information about the reason for exclusion of the selected Catalog item from your OS design.
- Find Source Dialog Box
The Find Source dialog box is displayed when the debugger tries to display a source code file, and can determine the name of the file, but cannot determine the path of the file.
- Insert Directory
The Insert Directory dialog box enables you to insert additional directories into the currently open dirs file in the Dirs Editor.
- License Run-Time Image Dialog Box (Visual Studio)
This dialog box provides functionality that you can use to license a run-time image (.bin) file with a run-time key that you have obtained from a distributor.
- List Nearest Symbol Dialog Box
This dialog box enables you to find function names or labels near an address in code.
- Load Build Output into Error List Dialog Box
This dialog box enables you to load an archived build output file or another user's build output file for inspection.
- Missing Build Options in OS Design Dialog Box
The Missing Build Options in OS Design****dialog box appears when you open an OS design containing build options not contained in the core OS.
- Missing Catalog Items Dialog Box
The Missing Catalog Items dialog box appears when you open an OS design containing Catalog items or Sysgen variables that Platform Builder does not recognize.
- Missing Locale Options in OS Design Dialog Box
The Missing Locale Options in OS Design dialog box appears when you open an OS design containing locale options not contained in the core OS.
- No Supported Configurations in OS Design Dialog Box
This dialog box appears if the OS design that you want to open does not contain any currently supported configurations.
- Options Dialog Box (Visual Studio)
This dialog box contains pages that you can use to configure global settings in Platform Builder.
- OS Design Property Pages Dialog Box
The OS Design Property Pages dialog box enables you to view and configure options for an entire OS design.
- Platform Builder Environment Settings Dialog Box
This page in the Development Settings dialog box enables you to view and configure global settings for Platform Builder in the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 development environment.
- QuickWatch Dialog Box
The QuickWatch dialog box enables you to examine the value of a variable or expression, to modify the value of a variable or to add a variable or expression to the Watch window.
- Reason for Inclusion Dialog Box
This dialog box provides information about the reasons for inclusion of the selected Catalog item in your OS design.
- Release Directory Modules Dialog Box
In the Release Directory Modules dialog box, you can determine which modules to load from the release directory.
- Run Program Dialog Box
The Run Program Dialog box allows you to choose from a list of available programs for operation on a target device.
- Script Source Dialog Box
In the Script Source dialog box, you can edit the source code for a script directly.
- SDK Tool Property Pages Dialog Box
The SDK Tool Property Pages dialog box contains categories of information that you use to create a new software development kit (SDK) based on your OS design.
- Source Path Mapping Dialog Box
The Source Path Mapping dialog box stores source path mappings and priorities for the kernel debugger.
- Subproject Settings Dialog Box
The subproject settings dialog box enables you to view and modify the output characteristics for the currently selected subproject.
- Symbol Search Path Dialog Box
The Symbol Search Path Dialog box allows you to specify the locations that Platform Builder searches for symbols when debugging a run-time image.
- Target Device Connectivity Options Dialog Box
This dialog box enables you to configure connection settings between the development computer and the target device.
- Unsupported Configurations in OS Design Dialog Box
This dialog box appears if the OS design that you want to open contains configurations that are not supported.
