The first step in implementing Domain Name System (DNS) in a network is installing and configuring the servers that will provide the service. Before you do so, however, it is important to plan the deployment to ensure the greatest effectiveness of your DNS infrastructure. In addition to planning your zone layout and server location and function, also take into consideration whether you will integrate your DNS infrastructure with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
