How to Set Discount Interaction Policies
Discount interaction policies determine whether an item can receive multiple discounts or multiple awards. The Marketing Manager supports four different discount interaction policies. To give you significantly more control over how you apply your discounts you can select one, two, three, or all four discount interaction policies.
This topic describes how to set the discount interaction policies for the discount.
To set the discount interaction policies
Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 , and then click Marketing Manager.
In Marketing Manager, in the Views pane, click Campaigns.
In the Tree View pane, click All Discounts.
Note
If you cannot see the Tree View pane, click Tree View on the toolbar.
In the Search Results pane, select the discount for which you want to set the interaction policies.
In the Tasks pane, click Edit.
In the Discount Properties screen, on the Interaction tab, do the following:

Condition items of this discount can be reused as condition items for other discounts
Check this box to use an item in the shopping basket to satisfy more than one condition.
Condition items of this discount can be reused as award items for other discounts
Check this box to use an item in the shopping basket to qualify for an award and to reuse the item to qualify as an additional award.
Award items of this discount can be reused as condition items for other discounts
Check this box to use an item in the shopping basket to which an award was given to also be used as a condition.
Award items of this discount can be reused as award items for other discounts
Check this box to enable an award item in the shopping basket to be reused as award items for other discounts.
Click Save and close on the toolbar.
