Enable auto updates for telephony devices

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 8 Beta

To enable auto updates for telephony devices

  1. Open Telephony.

  2. In the console tree, click the server you want to manage.

    Where?

    • Telephony/server
  3. On the Action menu, click Properties, and then click the Auto Updates tab.

  4. Select the Enable device status auto updates check box.

  5. Next to Interval, type the Hours and Minutes between automatic updates.

Notes

  • Performing this task does not require you to have administrative credentials. Therefore, as a security best practice, consider performing this task as a user without administrative credentials.

  • To open Telephony, click Start, click Run, and then type tapimgmt.msc.

  • The action enabled by this procedure updates only the status information for lines and phones.
