To move an AD LDS instance to a site object

  1. Open Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Edit and connect and bind to the configuration directory partition of an AD LDS instance in the configuration set that contains the site object. For more information, see Manage an AD LDS Instance Using ADSI Edit.

  2. In the console tree, double-click the connection, double-click the configuration directory partition, and then double-click the sites container (CN=Sites).

  3. In the sites container, double-click the site that contains the AD LDS instance that you want to move, and then double-click the servers container of the site.

  4. In the servers container, right-click the AD LDS instance that you want to move, and then click Move.

  5. In the Move dialog box, double-click Sites, double-click the site to which you want to move the AD LDS instance, click the servers container of the site, and then click OK.

Note

Before you can move an AD LDS instance to a site, the site must have a servers container to which you can move the AD LDS instance. For more information, see Add a Site Object and Servers Container.
