Playlists Page
Applies To: Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista
Use the Playlists feature page to create playlists and configure client playback rules for the playlist media entries. You can sort the list by clicking one of the feature page column headings or select a value from the Group by drop-down list to group similar items.
UI Element List
The following tables describe the UI elements that are available on the feature page and in the Actions pane.
Feature Page Elements
Element Name | Description |
---|---|
File Name |
Displays the name of the playlist file (a file that has an .isx file name extension). |
Title |
Displays the title of the playlist. |
Enabled |
Displays whether the playlist is enabled on the Web server. Disabled playlists are not available to clients. |
Description |
Displays the description of the playlist, which can help you distinguish its content from other playlists. The description cannot be viewed by clients. |
Last Modified |
Displays the last time the playlist was changed. |
Actions Pane Elements

Enable Playlist Feature |
Enables the Web Playlists feature. Web Playlists is enabled by default. |

Disable Playlist feature |
Disables the Web Playlists feature. |

Add Playlist |
Opens the Add/Edit Playlist feature page in which you can create a new playlist. |

Edit Playlist |
Opens the Add/Edit Playlist feature page in which you can edit the selected playlist. |
||
Remove Playlist |
Removes the selected playlist from the list and deletes the playlist file from the computer. |
||
Enable Playlist |
Enables the selected playlist. |
||
Disable Playlist |
Disables the selected playlist. Disabled playlists are not available to clients. |
||
Clone Playlist |
Opens the Clone Playlist dialog box so that you can give a new playlist name to a copy of the selected playlist. |

Import ASX Playlist |
Opens the Open dialog box in which you can browse for client-side playlists (files that have .asx file name extensions) to import as Web playlists. Client-side playlists are automatically converted to Web playlists (files that have .isx file name extensions) after they are imported.

Edit Impersonation Settings |
Opens the Impersonation feature page in which you can enable Web Playlists to connect to media assets that are protected by credentials under the context of an authenticated Windows client. |

Configure Providers |
Opens the Playlist Providers feature page in which you can manage the custom providers that you create. |
||
Configure Output Formats |
Opens the Output Formats page in which you can manage the XSL transformations that you create for Web playlist files. |
||
Edit Feature Settings |
Opens the Edit Feature Settings dialog box in which you can configure Web Playlists feature settings. |
