IRowSet.SetCharacterStream Method

Definition

Overloads

SetCharacterStream(String, Reader, Int32)

Sets the designated parameter to the given Reader object, which is the given number of characters long.

SetCharacterStream(Int32, Reader, Int32)

Sets the designated parameter in this RowSet object's command to the given java.io.Reader value.

SetCharacterStream(String, Reader)

Sets the designated parameter to the given Reader object.

SetCharacterStream(Int32, Reader)

Sets the designated parameter in this RowSet object's command to the given Reader object.

SetCharacterStream(String, Reader, Int32)

Sets the designated parameter to the given Reader object, which is the given number of characters long.

[Android.Runtime.Register("setCharacterStream", "(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/io/Reader;I)V", "GetSetCharacterStream_Ljava_lang_String_Ljava_io_Reader_IHandler:Javax.Sql.IRowSetInvoker, Mono.Android, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null")]
public void SetCharacterStream (string? parameterName, Java.IO.Reader? reader, int length);
[<Android.Runtime.Register("setCharacterStream", "(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/io/Reader;I)V", "GetSetCharacterStream_Ljava_lang_String_Ljava_io_Reader_IHandler:Javax.Sql.IRowSetInvoker, Mono.Android, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null")>]
abstract member SetCharacterStream : string * Java.IO.Reader * int -> unit

Parameters

parameterName
String

the name of the parameter

reader
Reader

the java.io.Reader object that contains the UNICODE data used as the designated parameter

length
Int32

the number of characters in the stream

Attributes

Exceptions

if an error occurs accessing the database.

Remarks

Sets the designated parameter to the given Reader object, which is the given number of characters long. When a very large UNICODE value is input to a LONGVARCHAR parameter, it may be more practical to send it via a java.io.Reader object. The data will be read from the stream as needed until end-of-file is reached. The JDBC driver will do any necessary conversion from UNICODE to the database char format.

<B>Note:</B> This stream object can either be a standard Java stream object or your own subclass that implements the standard interface.

SetCharacterStream(Int32, Reader, Int32)

abstract member SetCharacterStream : int * Java.IO.Reader * int -> unit

Parameters

parameterIndex
Int32

the first parameter is 1, the second is 2, ...

reader
Reader

the Reader object that contains the UNICODE data to be set

length
Int32

the number of characters in the stream

Attributes

Exceptions

if an error occurs accessing the database.

Remarks

Sets the designated parameter in this RowSet object's command to the given java.io.Reader value. It may be more practical to send a very large UNICODE value via a java.io.Reader rather than as a LONGVARCHAR parameter. The driver will read the data from the stream as needed until it reaches end-of-file.
