Insertion Point
The insertion point is a thin, vertical line in the editing window that indicates where data can be pasted, and where playback will begin when the Play Button is clicked. The following four design modules use this insertion point:
The following illustration shows an editing window with the insertion point near the end of the first measure. The Insertion Marker is also shown.
You can place the insertion point by clicking anywhere within the editing window. The insertion point moves from left to right as the sound is played.
The insertion point specifies only the horizontal position, or start time, of pasted data. The vertical position of the data within a track is determined by the data itself. For example, a note is pasted at its original pitch.
