Managing Patterns and Motifs in Style Designer

You can manage the set of patterns and motifs in a style either in the project tree or in the Style Designer Window.

To insert a new pattern or motif in the Style Designer window, click anywhere in the appropriate pane and press the INSERT key or click Insert on the Edit menu. This method creates an empty Default New Pattern. For a method that provides more options, see Creating Patterns and Motifs in the Project Tree.

To delete, cut, or copy a pattern or motif in Style Designer, click it and select the appropriate command from the Edit menu, or use the standard keyboard shortcuts.

To paste a pattern or motif from the Clipboard, click anywhere in the appropriate pane, and press CTRL+V, or click Paste on the Edit menu.

Although patterns and motifs play different roles, they are all patterns, and can be moved or copied from one pane to the other.
