Style Designer Window

The Style Designer window, shown in the following figure, is opened when you create a new style or double-click an existing style in the project tree.

The window shows miscellaneous information about the style in the top bar. Below that is a list of patterns. In the bottom pane is a list of motifs.

Using the Style Designer window you can do the following:

• Set the time signature and grid

  See Setting a Style's Time Signature and Grid.

• Set the tempo

  See Setting a Style's Tempo.

• Choose a band

  See Setting a Style's Band.

• Insert, copy, and delete patterns, embellishments, and motifs

  You can insert new patterns, embellishments, and motifs, delete unwanted patterns, embellishments, and motifs, or paste patterns, embellishments, and motifs from other styles. For more information, see Managing Patterns and Motifs in Style Designer.

• Set lengths, groove ranges, and chord rhythms for patterns

  Select a pattern and open the Properties Window to set Pattern Properties.

• Open a pattern or motif to edit it

  Double-click a pattern to open Pattern Editor.
