Motif Properties

The following figure shows the Properties Window for a motif in the Style Designer window.

Motif Properties window

The window has the following tabs:

  • Motif Tab

    This tab includes the following settings:

    Setting Description
    Motif Name Name of the motif. This name can be used by applications to retrieve the motif from the style.
    Length Length, in measures. Click to set the length to a value from 1 to 999.
    Reset Variation Order on Play If selected, variations play from the start of the cycle (as specified in the Play setting in the Part Properties) each time the motif is played. If not selected, the cycle picks up where it left off. There is no effect on playback of variations in random order.
    Start Time Point within the motif at which it starts playing. Normally the first measure, beat, grid, and tick.
  • Loop Tab

    This tab is similar to the Loop Tab in the Segment Properties window.
