Take records off hold when the reason to put items on hold, such as legal discovery, is resolved. When you release a hold, normal enforcement of the information management policy resumes for all of the records that were subject to that hold. This means that records are no longer suspended from expiration or deletion. If specific records are subject to more than one hold, these records cannot be restored to normal policy enforcement until all holds to which they belong are resolved and the records are released.
Task Requirements
To take records off hold, you can perform the following procedures in no particular order:
Remove a record from a hold Use this procedure to remove a single record from a hold.
Release all records from a hold Use this procedure to release multiple records from a hold.
