Design Templates (Compact 7)

You can use a design template as a starting point for your OS design. Design templates include the basic building blocks of the operating system architecture. With design templates, you can select the components you want to support in an OS for your Windows Embedded Compact powered device.
Design templates include preselected features for a Windows Embedded Compact OS for a specific device category and can help reduce your overall OS development time.
After you select a design template, you can modify the set of features included in the template by using both OS Design Wizard and Catalog Items View in Platform Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 7.
