Instrument Settings

The Instrument region in the DLS Designer Window contains the following settings for the instrument highlighted in the project tree:

  • MSB, LSB, and Patch

    Bank select and patch number. For an overview of these values, see Patch Numbers and Bank Select. For implementation details, see DLS Patch Conflicts.

  • Drums

    Select if the instrument is a drum kit. Drum kits use their own set of PChannels and have unique instrument sounds for every pitch. For more information on reserved PChannels, see PChannel Number.

  • Max Level

    Highest volume of any region in the instrument, as set in the Wave Component Properties or Region Properties. This value is read-only and is expressed as decibels of attenuation.

To change the name of the instrument, use the Instrument Properties window.
