Project Tree

The project tree shows one or more projects. Each project is indicated by a folder icon. The components of every project in the project tree are organized in a tree structure. The following illustration shows a simple project tree.

Project tree

Each major component of a project is represented by two icons: a top-level icon representing the component file, and a second-level or internal icon representing the component itself. Some components contain further levels of objects.

Next to the icon for each object that contains other objects is a plus (+) or minus (–) symbol. The next level can be hidden or displayed by clicking the symbol. You can also expand the tree for a folder or component file by double-clicking the icon or name.

Double-clicking the second-level icon or name of a component opens that component in an Editing Window.

Every object in the tree, except folders, has its own Properties Window. All objects have Shortcut Menus.

Components in the project tree can be sorted by name, type, or file size. Right-click the project icon and click Sort Tree on the shortcut menu.
