Compose Chords Button
A segment containing a chordmap and signposts can repeatedly generate fresh chord progressions based on the signpost chords of a chordmap file. This is done using the Compose Chords button, shown in the following figure.
Before you can use the Compose Chords button, you must complete the following actions:
- In the Chordmap Track, insert a chordmap from which the chords are drawn.
- In the Signpost Track, insert one or more signposts. See Placing Signpost Group Markers.
- Add either a Style Track or a Pattern Track if one does not exist. If you use a style track, you must also insert a style to play in the segment.
Each time you click the Compose Chords button, DirectMusic Producer places new chords in the Chord Track.
Note The signpost track can also be set to recompose the chords automatically each time the segment plays or loops. This setting is on the Flags Tab of the Signpost Track Properties window.
