Managing Components
This section gives step-by-step instructions for managing project components such as segments, styles, and audiopaths.
Several predesigned component files are included with DirectMusic Producer; you can add any of these files to a project. You can also add components that were saved as part of another project, or components such as wave files that are not yet part of any project.
Note The General MIDI DLS Collection (GM.dls) is installed along with the DirectMusic system components. By default, DirectMusic Producer uses the GM.dls collection for playback on all performance channels. The GM.dls collection is available to all projects at all times. You do not need to add it to the project tree.
GM.dls uses the GM/GSĀ® Sound Set, which is the property of the Roland Corporation. For more information about legal issues related to using the GM.dls., click the copyright link at the bottom of this page. For any component you use, also read any copyright information contained on the Info Tab of the Properties window of the file.
